Apart from his impressive performance in the biopicChurchill, Brian Cox is best recognized for his role as Logan Roy in the popular series,Succession. The Shakespearean actor has been widely regarded as an institution in acting through his repertoire of films and characters.

With his presence and charisma, Cox naturally harbored dreams of starring in a James Bond film one day. TheSeparationstar almost thought that he had manifested his desire when he got a call to be part of007: Road to a Million, which he thought, was going to be the next Bond film in the making. As it happened, Cox’s guess turned out to be completely wrong.

Brian Cox Mistook Reality Series For A James Bond Movie
British actorBrian Coxhas done the gamut of roles on the big screen backed by his experienced theater foundation. TheSuccessionstar though, revealed that being part of a James Bond film was something he had dreamt of for a while. Cox thought that Lady Luck had finally found him when he was called upon to be part of what sounded like a Bond film titled007: Road to a Million.
While theIndependentactor was all set to say a resounding yes to the project, he discovered that it was not a film, but a television reality series that he was asked to anchor. Expressing his initial disappointment at being surprised this way, Cox toldThe Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,

“There was no script and there was no James Bond movie. For years, I thought, you know I would love to be in James Bond. It would be really interesting. And I thought this was my moment, but it wasn’t.”
Despite his regret, Brian Cox admitted that he did in fact, get a really good gig as the host of a competition series that followed nine pairs of people who, like inThe Amazing Race,head out on a global adventure while performing Bond-inspired challenges for a cash prize.

Brian Cox’s Worry About His Character InSuccession
Hollywood star Brian Cox became globally recognizable after his powerful portrayal of a fearsome and charismatic patriarch in the blockbuster seriesSuccession. Coz played the role with such conviction that viewers were unable to separate him from the character. TheChurchillactor though, felt that this might end up becoming a problem for him as he took up different projects in the future. In an interview withThe Times, Cox elaborated on this aspect and said,
“Having played Logan Roy, I resent the fact, or I’m sad about the fact, that I’ve lost my anonymity, which was one of the things that served me well. It’s one of the great roles and there’s nothing I can do about it. You get hoisted by your own petard. Hopefully I’m not going to be defined by it, but we’ll see.”

Cox went on to add that theater was still a very integral part of his life that gave him the foundation to hone his acting skills. The star revealed that he had plans to return to the stage for a few projects before taking on other movie commitments.
