The Lost Cityactress also explained why she had never done a nude scene on theAbout Last Nightpodcast. She said:
“I was like, ‘I will do this naked scene only if I can be humiliated and funny. You will not see me trying to attempt being sexy naked—in real life or onscreen. There’s just no point in it! It was for that reason, with a friend that you trusted comedically, and safety-wise I knew I was in the presence of safety.”

Bullock implied that she wanted to recontextualize the way nude scenes were generally done. So instead of showing nudity in a romantic or s**ual context, she opted to do so in a comedy one. Her idea definitely worked because the film grossed $317 million on a $40 million budget.
