In this extensive guide, we’ll go through how you can find Nightmare Demon in Wuchang Fallen Feathers, its moves and strategies to fight it.

Wuchang Fallen Feathers borrows several gameplay mechanics from other Soulsborne games. One of them is the ability to fight your Inner Demon, which is basically a evil version of you. She has the same abilities, skills and moveset as you do, and the Inner Demon is quite adept at using these against you. However, by the point you reach the endgame in Chapter 4, you will unlock a more vicious fight with your mirror self, but this time around, the enemy is called Nightmare Demon. Although optional, we highly recommend undertaking this fight for the experience and the rewards. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can defeat the Nightmare Demon in Wuchang Fallen Feathers.

How To Find the Nightmare Demon in Wuchang Fallen Feathers?

You can only unlock this fight after you’ve crossed the point of no return in Chapter 4 and reachedWorship’s Rise in Ruins. Start from the Annalum area and proceed across the plant bridge. You can decide whether you want to engage the enemies here or avoid them.

Eventually, you’ll soon reach a set of stairs that lead to a gate. You should be able to recognize it by the Shu Sanctum placed right next to the gate. This is the exact place where you faced off against the Gluttonous Monstrosity earlier on. Once you enter the gate, the boss fight with the Nightmare Demon will trigger.

All Nightmare Demon Moves

The battle with the Nightmare Demon has three phases, and she can unleash different attacks, based on which phase you’re on. Let’s take a look at the moves available to her.

First Phase Moves

During the first phase, the Nightmare Demon will wield dual blades. You can easily get caught up in her combo attacks using these blades, especially since she’s quite quick. Besides the physical combo attacks, she can also utilize the following spells during this phase.

By now, you might be familiar with these moves since you’ll have likely performed them countless times on enemies. The only difference here is that the Nightmare Demon will use the moves against you.

Second Phase Moves

As you drain the Nightmare Demon’s health to about 50%, the second phase will begin. In this phase, the boss will wield Li Jiao’s Fang axe. One of the major drawbacks when she uses this weapon is that she can now fire a cannonball at you using the Draconic Bombard skill.

If hit, it will cause Burn and fire damage. You also won’t be able to parry this attack. So, dodging is your only recourse. Besides the light axe attacks, she’ll also use the following skills during this part of the fight.

Third Phase Moves

After you reduce her health by two-thirds of the total, the Nightmare Demon will enter its final phase. The phase begins with the boss switching to a longsword and then drinking a healing potion. She will regain her health, putting her HP back to 50% once more.

At this point, she will unleash Feathering Windstrike, a devastating attack where her blade glows purple. You cannot parry this particular attack. Apart from the basic heavy and light attacks, the following are the discipline skills that she’ll use in this phase.

How To Defeat Nightmare Demon in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

By this point in the game, you have quite a bit of experience dealing with your Inner Demon. The Nightmare Demon has the same moveset, but the only difference is that she’s a boss. You can use parries, counterattacks, and heavy attacks to knock her down. However, she’s quick to recover, which gives you minimal time to capitalize on such situations. Unfortunately, stunning or knocking her doesn’t open her up for a devastating Obliterate attack, unlike most other humanoid bosses.

Keep in mind that she’s extremely quick during the dual blade phase, but with that particular weapon, she lacks range. So, use that to your advantage. Similarly, when she switches to the axe in the second phase, she can launch ranged attacks, but most of the attacks have a slow buildup. So, you can easily get out of the way of most of them and parry the rest.

In her final phase, you’ll have a trickier time predicting her moves. Also, you can’t parry her Blink Kick and Feathering Windstrike attacks, which complicates things further. In this phase, you can stack Skyborn Might and then repeatedly use Ethereal Form to auto-dodge the attacks you cannot parry. This ability is also crucial when you want to gain some distance and use a recovery item.

Rewards for Defeating the Nightmare Demon
