Bad Boys 4is slowly but surely taking shape as the film’s cast and crew fall into place. Although rumors of a fourth installment were doing rounds for some time, it wasn’t until February 2023 that franchise leads Will Smith and Martin Lawrence made the official announcement.
The returning creative team includesBad Boys for Lifedirectors Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi, alongside screenwriter Chris Bremner, who is penning the script. According to a new report,Euphoriastar Eric Dane has been brought into the play as the movie’s antagonist.

Eric Daneis an American actor known for his film, TV, and theater work. He began his career in the late 1990s with guest appearances in TV shows such asSaved by the Bell: The New Class, Roseanne, andMarried… with Children. He landed his breakthrough role in 2003 as Dr. Mark Sloan in the popular medical drama seriesGrey’s Anatomy.

His character is a married man and a father of two, who becomes involved in a secret relationship with the show’s protagonist, Rue Bennett’s character, played by Zendaya. Dane’s portrayal of the character is complex and nuanced, showing the character’s vulnerability and inner turmoil.

Bad Boys 4 Happening Despite Shelving Rumors
In a moment of controversy at the Academy Awards last year, Will Smith caused a temporary disruption to his career by publicly attacking Chris Rock. Following the incident, rumors circulated that many of Smith’s projects, including the highly-anticipatedBad Boys 4, were facing delays or potential cancellations.
However, the studio was probably waiting for the dust to settle down before moving forward with the project, as a year has passed since the Oscars debacle. With enough time having elapsed, the studio might have felt it was the right time to announce Will Smith’s return to the Bad Boys franchise.
Directed by Michael Bay, the originalBad Boysfilm showcased the dynamic partnership of Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) and Mike Lowrey (Smith). The film followed the story of two confident detectives as they worked to safeguard a key witness to a murder, all while investigating the theft of a huge amount of heroin from their precinct’s evidence room.
